Please be respectful, do not harass others. There's a lot of symbolism around the split facets of the demigods when the Cursemark of Death is fractured in two, but Godwyn's Death and D being a hunter of Those Who Live in Death to feed Malekith the Death Root seems to be all linked into the elements of Godwyn, as a parallel to what Ranni is doing.Welcome to the Official Elden Ring subreddit! The reason that's notable is that it's upon entering Nokron that Fia grants you the Weathered Dagger which was once made of intertwined Silver & gold, but is now worn down and marred by a black gash - and it's the item that kills D and separates him from his Mimic brother, who you give the armor to. What's also interesting about this is that the Sacred Relic Sword is made of intertwined Silver & Gold, exactly the same way D's armor is, where it's heavily implied that his "Twin" younger brother is actually a Mimic of him, and they share the same soul. Both seem plausible given the design overlap to the Sacred Relic Sword that the Elden Beast forges from Radagon/Marika's body. The only other corpse that makes sense would be if it were forged from Godwyn's remains, but I think that's manifested elsewhere. I'm curious if this blade was forged from Ranni's body, which is why her remains are hidden away. Similarly, this item brought about the doom of the society inhabiting the eternal cities, as it caused the greater will to banish them underground, which made way for the Age of the Golden Order. The description of the Sacred Relic Sword states it is considered to be an omen of the end of era and a beginning that might bring ruin or prosperity. It shares its double helix blade with the Sacred Relic Sword, which, similarly to this item's description, was fashioned from a corpse. The Black Knives were also used by the Assassins to kill a member of the Golden Lineage, and thus a vassal of the Greater Will, so this design choice might have been intentional by the Assassins as either a symbolic gesture, or the Black Knife actually inherited its demigod-slaying power from this item at least in part, somehow. As the Black Knife Assassins are scions of the eternal cities, one of which this weapon is a treasure of, the assumption can be made the Black Knife daggers were fashioned after this blade. The cross guard of the Fingerslayer Blade lines up with two of the three spikes of the Black Knife, but it is missing the Black Knife's additional spike. It's shape is similar to that of the Black Knife, being that of a curved dagger. ![]() This item bears similarities to two weapons in Elden Ring:.Be sure to obtain the Magic Scorpion Charm from Seluvis before handing this item to Ranni, otherwise the talisman would become unobtainable. ![]()
